I live a contradictory life. I've been studying Buddhism for sixteen years, but I am mostly a theatre person. When asked, I say that I am a "Yankee Buddhist," or that I'm not a very good Buddhist. I have one daughter, 19 years old, who is my best friend and the love of my life. But she doesn't live with me any more and I have some empty nest syndrome. I have been with the same man for 10 years, live in a beautiful house that he built on a gorgeous New England Hill, but am not legally married. I believe that life is what we make it, although the raw materials are often faulty.
